Fork-Tailed Flycatcher

Fork-tailed flycatcher. This bird was photographed in Austin, TX on December 21, 2012. The bird was part of a loose flock of scissor-tailed flycatchers and had been seen repeatedly for about a week after being discovered during the Austin Christmas bird count. The fork-tailed flycatcher's normal range is southern Mexico to central Argentina but it is given to vagrant wanderings and so it is an occasional visitor to Texas, other states and even Canada.
