Crimson-collared grosbeak female in potato tree. The fruit of this tree seems to be the bird's favorite food. This rare visitor from Mexico was seen and photographed on January 14, 2009. A few years ago a male of the species was seen in the same location, the Frontera Audubon Preserve in Weslaco, Texas.
